The City of Denver Has Made a Decision

Patients, friends, associates, and patrons; the City of Denver has made its final ruling on our dispensary license, and our R4 zoning issue.  They have denied our license.  We have been asked to close our doors on August 20, 2010.  This is a big blow for Linda and I as we expect it will be for you.  We are not finished.  We at Herban Wellness Inc. will regroup, and redefine our roles in the Colorado Medical Marijuana Community.  It is the advise of our counsel that the battle over zoning would be very costly, time consuming, and the likely results would not be in favor of Herban Wellness Inc.  We do not feel that this is the right battle for us or our patients.  With this being said, we do have another battle they we ARE likely to win.  We feel that the City of Denver and their “retroactive enforcement” have violated our/ your constitutional rights as patients and caregivers.  This new battle will also be very costly and time consuming, but we feel that this is the battle that we have a better chance of prevailing.

You have come to rely on the discretion, security, and professionalism found at Herban Wellness Inc.  Now What?

We have you covered.  We have always prided ourselves in being able to “check out” the competition and to adjust accordingly.  During our many visits to over half of the dispensaries in the state, we were able to see both the good and the bad in the industry.

Only one dispensary really stands out to Linda and I.  There was one dispensary that was always as professional or more professional than us.  There was only one dispensary that had true top shelf medicine, and the rewards to prove it.  There is one dispensary that always takes the time with every patient.  There was only one dispensary that provided the same level security and discretion that Herban Wellness Inc. provides.

Linda and I agree that there is only one dispensary in the City of Denver that our patients will feel as a they did at Herban Wellness Inc.  That dispensary is Denver Relief.  Linda and I have made arrangements with the owners of Denver Relief to welcome all of our patients with open arms.  Ean, Kayvan, and Adam, the owners of Denver Relief, have agreed to open their doors and take care of all of our patients.

We are preparing welcome packages for all 644 of our patients.  These will be available at our office beginning Monday, August 9, 2010.  The welcome packages will include a $40 ANY 1/8th coupon, a letter from Linda and I with future contact information, a welcome letter from Denver Relief, home of  Bio-Diesel, and necessary forms to stay compliant under the new 1284.  We are excited to see each and every one of you at least one more time before we close our doors, so stop by soon and stop by often.

What can you do to help? Our reorganization and our legal battles will prove to be very costly.  Keep shopping at Herban Wellness Inc. as long as you can.  Buy a couch, a TV, a desk from our lobby, or make a donation.  Donations are the best way to help out.  No matter how much funding Herban Wellness Inc. has, there are other powers and groups that have more.  This is why, if you are in a position to make a one time or recurring donation, it will help.  You can make a difference.

What is next for Herban Wellness Inc?

Herban Wellness Inc. will be reorganizing, regrouping, fighting legal battles and redefining our role in the Colorado medical marijuana community.  We will continue to use our knowledge, passion, and industry relationships to mold a shape the development of medical marijuana and its role in today’s society.  We will continue to be available via email to all of our patients, vendors, associates, and allies.  We will continue to assist patients, caregivers, medical marijuana centers, media moguls, and the entire community.  We are available to consult new dispensary owners on opening, marketing, and operating medical marijuana related businesses.  We are also available to consult patients in grow room construction, set up and operation.  We are available to law makers and regulators in Colorado and all other states to assist with any medical marijuana related issues.  We will continue to operate Green Ribbon Clinic, assisting patients with getting medical marijuana recommendations or renewals.
